In short, we would never recommend for an electric scooter to be ridden in the rain for a number of reasons. Both the safety of the scooter and for yourself are the most prominent reasons for this.
We would like to say that these scooters aren't designed to be used in wet weather conditions and can ride extremely differently in such conditions. Before riding in wet weather, all the general safety considerations must be made, with a few more also.
It may be beneficial to alter the tyre pressure of your scooter to provide more traction, whilst, your drive style may also need a drastic change.
What if I'm caught in a sudden downpour?
With the correct considerations, this shouldn't be much of an issue. These scooters are water resistant to an extent, however, this is only the case with the correct maintenance processes.
Following a journey in the rain, the scooter should always be wiped dry and the battery removed. If possible, the scooter should also be stored in a warm, dry room for at least 12 hours after use in wet weather. This will give the scooter the best chance to dry before your next use.
Unfortunately, damage as a result of water exposure will not be covered under the manufacturers warranty.
