Heralded as the future of e-mobility, the Inmotion L9 is really an excellent model with an astounding 95km of advertised range as well as countless of other smaller, but equally important features.
With this guide, we should hopefully help you through the contents of your item and any features that you may have been unaware of. Of course, if any questions are left unanswered, please do submit a ticket and one of our customer service advisors will be with you shortly.
What do I need to know?
- Please charge the battery up before using your scooter for the first time.
- Ensure that you have all the correct safety clothing for riding an electric scooter.
- Please keep the box for at least 28 days in the event an issue may arise.
- Do not ride with your foot on rear fender
Straight out of the box, what will I need to fit?
A small amount of assembly will be required when taking the L9 out of the box for the first time. Firstly, the handlebars will need to be screwed onto the stem of the scooter. For the folding mechanism to work as it should, the included bracket will also need to be screwed into the stem. All the required screws should be included straight out of the box. Thankfully, the correct sized hex wrench should be included for use straight out of the box also.
After assembly, please turn the scooter on to ensure that everything is working as it should. Now, the scooter will need to be initiated through the app. This app can be downloaded to most modern smartphones and can be found on both Apple and Android devices.
With the handlebars fitted, can I go out for my first ride?
With the scooter all assembled, you may be a little eager to take it out for the first time, however, please hold off from doing this quite yet. From the factory, these Li-ion batteries are initially charged with a 'storage charge' which is, in essence, the safest voltage for long period storage. This type of charge, however, isn't particularity useful if you are intending to ride the scooter at all so you'll need to place the battery on charge and wait for the LED on the charger to turn green.
Often the first charge is vital to the longevity of a lithium based battery which is why we can't reiterate enough how important it is to charge your scooter fully before your first journey.
Whilst the scooter is charging, the tyre pressure of both the front and rear tyres can be adjusted to the correct pressures. These tyres should be filled with air straight from the factory, however, this is unlikely to be at the correct pressure for riding with. For further information on tyre pressures, we would recommend reading an article which is linked here.
A little bit about safety...
Of course, just like any other vehicle, there are certainly precautions that have to be made before riding your e-scooter. Helmets, knee-pads and elbow-pads are all pieces of equipment we would highly recommend to be worn, whilst, there are some other more obvious precautions. We would advise against riding the scooter whilst, intoxicated, on medication, when pregnant or during a rainstorm. When riding your e-scooter, please do consider all possibilities before embarking on your journey.
The Inmotion L9 can reach speeds of up to 19mph which is awfully fast for a scooter. Often, we would recommend for users to gradually increase their speed (within the users range of comfort) as they become more acclimatised to their scooters characteristics. The L9 has three speed settings; Eco, Drive and Sport which can reach speeds of up to, 9mph, 15mph and 18mph respectively.
Now with this all sorted and my battery charged, am I ready to ride my e-scooter?
Yes! With your battery charged and safety clothing worn, you should be more than ready to hop onto your scooter for the first time!
But I have more questions!!!
