Under UK law, it is currently illegal to ride an electric scooter in a public place which includes paths, pavements and roads. These scooters can be used on private land with the landowners permission.
There are several trials occurring across the UK regarding the public use of e-scooters, however, the laws regarding private use of e-scooters have not changed since the commencement of these trials.
For more information regarding the legal use of e-scooters, we would recommend reading the information found on the GOV.UK website linked here.
